About Forest Program.
Ages 4 to 5 | Rooted in Nature. Growing with Wonder.
At In Space Childcare Inc., our Forest Program for children aged 4 to 5 offers a unique, outdoor-based learning experience where nature is the classroom and curiosity leads the way.
Children are naturally drawn to the outdoors — to climb, question, build, and wonder. Our Forest Program invites them to do just that. Set in a rich outdoor environment, the program allows children to explore, discover, and grow through hands-on experiences with the natural world.
We follow a child-led, inquiry-based approach where learning unfolds organically — through puddle jumping, fort building, observing wildlife, gathering around stories, and solving real-world problems through play. Our educators serve as guides and co-explorers, gently supporting development while nurturing a deep connection to the environment.
What Makes Our Forest Program Special:
-
Outdoor-First Learning: Children spend the majority of their day outside, building resilience, confidence, and a strong connection to nature.
-
Ages 4 to 5 Focus: Designed specifically for preschool-aged children, our program balances freedom and structure to meet them exactly where they are developmentally.
-
Child-Led & Inquiry-Based: We honour each child’s questions, pace, and passions — letting their interests guide the day's discoveries.
-
Physical, Emotional & Cognitive Growth: From fine motor skills to social-emotional learning, the forest provides opportunities to grow in every domain.
-
Sustainable Values: Children learn to care for the earth and for each other through daily exposure to the rhythms and responsibilities of nature.
-
Weather-Ready & Safe: Our educators are trained in outdoor risk assessment, and our families are supported with guidance on appropriate clothing and seasonal readiness.
Whether it’s their first time balancing on a log, following animal tracks, or quietly listening to the wind in the trees, every moment in Forest Program is an opportunity for discovery and connection.
